Ohio Valley NARI is proud to be collaborating with Cincy Magazine to produce our Exclusive Membership Directory and Annual Remodeling Magazine, Remodel Cincy. We are excited to be able to put together this outstanding publication which will properly reflect all that NARI members have to offer with a company like Cincy magazine, which produces high quality, custom publications.
 
The publication will be locally managed and written, and will have an unparalleled and unique circulation throughout the Cincinnati region.  Not only will it be available at newsstands, book retailers and grocery stores, it will also be mailed to all Cincy Magazine subscribers and be distributed through Ohio Valley NARI events including at the Greater Cincinnati Kitchen, Bath & Remodeling Show and the Cincinnati Home and Garden Show.

New Ohio Valley NARI Website


Once again your Ohio Valley NARI Chapter has been working hard for you to enhance and improve our membership website. Please click
www.naricincinnati.org and spend a few minutes perusing your new site. Please keep in mind that we are not at completion, but we are quickly getting there. But we can still use your help.
 
Please submit project photos that we can include in our "Photo Gallery" section of the website. These should be a project with before and after photos (about three or so of each) and a category identified. The only stipulation is that entries must NOT be anticipated entries for the upcoming CotY Awards; all others are encouraged and welcome.

Safety Council Program Deadline Approaching


Employers can earn up to a four percent savings on their Workers' Compensation Premium by enrolling in the Safety Council Program.  Enrollment can be done directly through your local safety council and qualifying employers earn a two percent rebate for meeting all of the participation requirements and an additional two percent performance rebate by reducing claims frequency or severity rates - by 10% compared to the prior year.  The rebate offer excludes self-insuring employers, state agencies and employers enrolled in BWC's group-rating and group-retrospective programs.
 
Safety Council Program requirements include attending at least 10 safety council meetings during the year, including your CEO attending one of the 10 meetings.  Additionally, you must submit semi-annual workplace accident reports for the 2010 calendar year.

BWC's 10-step Business Plan for Safety


Members in the Frank Gates Group Plan and those not in the group are encouraged to implement BWC's 10-Step Business Plan for Safety.  The steps are
                                          
1. Visible active senior management leadership.
2. Employee involvement and recognition.
3. Medical treatment and return to work practices.
4. Communications.
5. Timely notification of claims.
6. Safety and health process coordination and employer education.
7. A written orientation and employee training plan.
8. Written and communicated safe work practices.
9. Written safety and health statement or philosophy.
10. Recordkeeping and data analysis.

Social Media Moms Diced and Sliced

According to the results of the 2010 Mom Social Influencer segmentation study by BabyCenter, five unique segments of social moms are broken down into two categories, the Influencers, Field Experts, Lifecasters and Pros, and the Influenced, labeled in the report as Butterflies and the Audience.  The Influencers make up only 18% of social moms, but they wield 78% of the influence.
Tina Sharkey, Chairman and Global President, BabyCenter says "Since 2006, the number of moms using social media has skyrocketed more than 500%... marketers (can) shift their mindset from social media to social marketing by gaining a better understanding of who the mom influencers are... "
