Summer to Fall
We have officially passed from summer to fall, and the cool winds of the season will be with us soon. That last minute rush for clients to get projects scheduled and completed before the end of the year is upon us and with the uptick in the industry,
we will likely not see a slow down before the holidays. No one is really complaining though. NARI CEO Fred Ulreich recently reported, looking at expected conditions three months from now continues to find a dominant proportion (68%) of remodelers are expecting
growth while only 8% see any level of decline. The balance (24%) see sales being about where they were last year.
Regardless of which segment you are in, you need to continue to market your business, your skill and your craft. One of the best ways to do this locally is to participate in the Ohio Valley NARI CotY program. The prestigious CotY (Contractor of the
Year) Awards are presented each year by NARI National to NARI members who have demonstrated outstanding work through their remodeling projects. Locally, we present CotYs to those companies in the Ohio Valley NARI area who exemplify this recognition.
Why spend the time to enter?
- Raise awareness among your current and prospective clients
- Boost morale in your company
- Earn certification scholarships (from NARI National)
The 2016 Ohio Valley NARI CotY awards program is available to all contractor members in good standing. Supplier members can also participate with entrants as Team Members. The 2016 program is open to projects with a finish date between December 1,
2013 and November 1, 2015.

2015 Annual Golf Outing
With the original date of August 6th falling victim to rain filled skies, Ohio Valley NARI held its annual golf outing on Thursday, September 10th. A very special thanks to our Platinum sponsor again this year, Kitchens
by Rutenschroer, KBR Manufacturing, for underwriting a significant portion of this event. Fourteen foursomes enjoyed a sun kissed sky with mild breezes and temperatures in the low 80's for this perfect day for golf. After grabbing a quick lunch sponsored
by Mansion Hill Custom Floors and Cincinnati Floor and Window Coverings, the groups were off for a competitive round of golf. Pella Windows insured that all golfers were well hydrated by sponsoring the beverage cart for this year's outing.
Everyone completed their round around 4:30 and headed to the clubhouse for a great dinner sponsored by Sims-Lohman Fine Kitchens and Granite. The Glenview staff served up Salad, Chicken and Roast beef, Mac and Cheese and Mashed Potatoes, Rolls,
and Cookies and Brownies.
Many thanks also to our Hole Sponsors for this year, KBR, Alluring Glass, Moen Faucets, Carter Lumber, Hamilton Parker, Schluter Systems, Ferguson Enterprises, Custom Distributors, Mueller Roofing, Mont Granite Inc, Hyde Park Lumber, and FSH Transformational
First Place winners were Jon Sauerland, Roger Earls, Jeff Heger, and Scott Lucke, shooting a 13 under par 59. Each was awarded with a $50.00 Club gift card for their effort. The Runner Up team of Jeremy Ghent, Steve Wethington, Matt King and Phil
Woodruff came in a close second, shooting a 12 under par 60, a fine effort. Each member of the team was awarded a $35.00 Club gift card. Craig Wireman and John Fricke took aim on # 7 West and #2 South, and captured the closest to the pin awards for the day.
The big hitters, winning the longest drive awards on #9 West and #9 South were Steve Wethington and Matthew King. Deadly accuracy was awarded to Roger Earles for the longest putt on # 8 South.
Finally, many, many thanks go out to the two gentlemen who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make this outing a success. Andrew Glasgow and John Fricke spent countless hours behind the scenes coordinating all of the sponsors for this year's
event and handling many of the preparation items that go into making these events a success. Nice job again for this year's outing.

BEVERAGE CART SPPONSOR
Monday, September 14 was the date and Mad Tree Brewery was again the place for the 2015 Feature Vendor Night for Ohio Valley NARI. Over 100 attendees were in attendance for what is
becoming a can't miss event annually. This year more than 25 vendors committed to the evening and a chance to give their business some attention with our membership. After sitting down for a few cold ones and some Catch a Fire Pizza, (new to Mad Tree Brewery
this year), attendees were encouraged to visit with all of our vendors for a chance to gain door prizes tickets for the drawings.
Paul Bauscher, GCP, UDCP kicked off the introduction of the vendors and offered his thanks from the chapter for all of those in attendance to make this year's event a success. Paul
then turned the microphone over to Matt Bliemeister of Cincinnati Floor and Window Coverings who spent a bit of time with each vendor in attendance, allowing them to introduce their business to the gathering. Each vendor then awarded a door prize from their
business to a lucky attendee.
A special thanks for our sponsors for this year's event, who helped make the event very successful. Our food sponsors this year were Mueller
Roofing Distributors and ProActive Safety Services. Not to be left out, our beer sponsors were Bin There Dump That and Cincinnati Floor and Window Coverings. Finally, all of the efforts behind the scenes to coordinate this event and make it a success were
handled by Matt Bliemeister and his team at Cincinnati Floor and Window Coverings. Kate Tomblin handled a great deal of the prep work for this event and is to be thanked for the extra special effort.
August Member Gathering
Jerry Beerman and the team at Alluring Glass provided the filet mignon cooked to perfection on the grill and Mark Werle from Werlegig Imaging provided the topic. "The Move to a Visual Social Media" was the center of discussion for the August membership
meeting for Ohio Valley NARI. Mark gave the members in attendance an interesting talk on how to put photos of YOUR projects right in front of your clients, right in the palm of your hand and with YOUR logo attached. Members were encouraged to consider
this rapidly emerging way to market your business though photography and visual imaging of your best work!
Paslode Pick It Up Challenge
To celebrate the launch of the Compact Framing Nailer, which is the industry's first pneumatic nailer designed specifically for remodelers, Paslode is offering the
"Pick It Up Challenge" sweepstakes. Through October 31, remodelers can enter to win a Ford F-150 pickup truck by going to a participating Home Depot or Lowes location to experience first-hand the nailer's lightweight design. Upon using a Smartphone to scan
a bar code on a tag hanging around the nailer, participants will arrive on a landing page for entry submittal. The drawing for the winner will be held December 1, 2015.
