Special Opportunity for
Ohio Valley NARI Members
The Home Depot has alerted us to a potential business opportunity in the Cincinnati market which may be of interest to our members. No one is soliciting business
on behalf of Home Depot, but making you aware of this in the likelihood that it may be good for your business.
While the foreclosure and REO markets are shrinking throughout the country, The Home Depot has an increasing share of work in this market. The work involves
a quick turnaround of 30 days with a payment of net 30. The jobs do not require any marketing, selections, or dealing with a homeowner. Therefore, the profit margin is lower at 20%.
The Home Depot has created this very short
webinar to allow members who may be interested in doing some of this work to be better informed and to get more information. The contact person at The Home Depot is
We realize that many of our members will not be interested in this work, however, there may be some members whose companies and business plans can accommodate
and benefit from this work.
Look at what you missed in March
The March meeting was another full house with many members stopping by the Pella Showroom in Montgomery to learn how to more effectively manage their contractor/subcontractor relationships. Neal Hendy, MCR, GCP, UDCP, of Neal's
Design and Remodel, Dan Hueber from the V Collective, Jerry Beerman from Alluring Glass and Jeff McCoy from Exteriors Unlimited each took the time to interact with the attendees. The discussion centered around relationships and how to better manage the flow
of information between yourself and subcontractors or suppliers that help make your projects a success. There was a great deal of discussion throughout the evening session.
Pella put out a nice spread from Firehouse Subs to get the evening started off right, and then welcomed all of the members and guests in attendance with a short presentation around the Pella product line.
There also was a special award presentation to Steve Zimmer, CR from Remodel Cincinnati. Steve has been active in both the Cincinnati and Dayton chapters for a number of years, and was recently awarded the Past Presidents Council
Award from Miami Valley NARI. We finally had Steve in front of an audience to give him the recognition that he so richly deserves for his efforts to both chapters over the years.
April Membership Meeting
The April membership meeting will be held at Custom Distributors, 9190 Seward Road, Fairfield on April 17th at 6:00 PM-8:00 PM
Our speaker will be John Dallman, who is the co-owner of DBGC, Inc., a 27 year old full service general construction firm in Cincinnati specializing in both residential and commercial services. DBGC's annual sales average $ 15 Million. Their firm has
done some of the largest and most unique residential remodels in the Cincinnati marketplace. John's background before starting DBGC is also unique, as both a professional sailboat racer and former Washington DC lobbyist.
John will delve into the topic of project management. It seems simple right? But maybe it is a bit more complex than you think. Not hard, simply complex. Customer satisfaction certainly is of upmost importance, but how do you manage that? How about your
subs? Do you manage and communicate with them well - clear, concise and straight forward? Manage the expectations and expect the results in a professional way. Safety is also a commitment with project management. There is much more and this will be a jammed
pack session. Hope you do not miss it.
