Another Fantastic Membership Meeting

On May 19th, Ohio Valley NARI member Nisbet Brower along with Masco Cabinetry representative Nick Rikota hosted members and guests to yet another informative and educational program.  Thanks to each of you for coming out in support of Ohio Valley NARI.

These events will continue on a monthly basis. Please make an effort to attend and invite a potential member to join us for our upcoming events. Each program offers a continued education credit and the networking opportunities are invaluable.

Thanks once again to our friends at Nisbet Brower!

Ohio Valley NARI Membership Initiative

We would like to announce a new incentive to our members for sponsoring a member to the Ohio Valley Chapter. Each new member sponsor will receive a $100.00 bill for their efforts. The incentive will be distributed immediately upon Board approval of the applicant and the Bounty will be paid at the next membership meeting. This is a perfect way for us to offer a bonus to our "counter help" and sales reps for passing out information about our fine organization.

Please contact info@naricincinnati.org or call 800-498-6274 for details.

Washington Week in Review

A few weeks ago, President Obama announced changes to his security team, nominating Leon Panetta, the current CIA Director, to succeed Robert Gates as the Secretary of Defense.  General David Petraeus, head of the U.S. military effort in Afghanistan, will replace Panetta as the next CIA Director.  While there is plenty of controversy surrounding both positions, both nominees will likely be approved by the Senate without delay.

Introduce Yourself to the Neighbors

By Morgan Zenner

Contractors have found creative ways to make their presence known in neighborhoods with yard signs and logoed trucks, but there are other, more effective ways to say hello and create goodwill with potential clients.

Thanks to NARI's LinkedIn Group discussion, three members share different ways to approach a current client's neighbors and the impact it has had on their businesses. With no clear right or wrong approach, contractors exchange ideas to formulate their personal approach to an old neighborhood marketing strategy.

Green Business Practices Gain Community Recognition

By Morgan Zenner

Green is a way of life in Davis, CA. The city's residents are known for being eco-conscious and not surprisingly, businesses are adapting to this lifestyle. "It's our way of walking the walk of being a green business, which is an important part of this community," says Juliana Tadano, project assistant at MAK Design + Build, Inc.

But Tadano isn't just referring to green remodeling practices. Her company has earned recognition in the community for its green business practices. For instance, MAK is certified through the Sacramento Area Sustainable Business Program.
